Dr. Abdulrazaq Yusuf Ahmed, widely known as Dr. Jalaaludiin, is a Somali physician, scholar, and transformative public health leader dedicated to rebuilding resilient and equitable health systems. He currently serves as the Director of Human Resources Management at the Federal Ministry of Health & Human Services and previously led Demartino Public Hospital, transforming it from a modest 20-bed unit into a 375-bed tertiary and specialty center — twice awarded Somalia’s Best Public Hospital.
He has coordinated national pandemic responses, taught and mentored future clinicians, and represented Somalia on international health platforms. Holding a PhD in Healthcare Economics and pursuing a second in Demography & Social Sciences, Dr. Jalaaludiin brings together research, leadership, and compassion in equal measure.
