University teaching and postgraduate leadership

At Benadir University, I coordinate the Postgraduate Tropical Medicine Programme and serve as Senior Lecturer. At City University, Mogadishu, my academic faculty role connects public health, health systems, governance, policy and research methodology.

Mentorship and research supervision

I support clinicians, postgraduate students, early-career researchers and public-sector professionals in defining research questions, designing studies, interpreting findings, writing manuscripts and translating knowledge into policy and practice.

Curriculum and executive education

My work includes competency-based curricula, facilitator guides, assessment tools, leadership programmes, governance training, research-methods teaching and implementation tools for health professionals and institutional leaders.

Editorial boards and peer review

Editorial Board Member, Journal of Healthcare Leadership and Journal of Global Health Economics and Policy. Review service spans health policy, health economics, medical education, women’s health, emergency medicine, infectious diseases, patient safety and multidisciplinary healthcare.

Somali-led knowledge platforms

Through RIYAADA Institute for Leadership & Governance, RIYAADA Journals and RUGSAN Consultancies and Research, I support applied research, executive education, policy dialogue, editorial mentorship and locally led knowledge production.
